This route develops along the breathtaking scenery of Gerês, with the Yellow Mountain as a backdrop, where you can admire the beauty of rural life of the typical villages that time almost forgot but stubbornly persist, and where some old inhabitants can still be met. Among the typical granite houses, granaries, ancient sidewalks, water canals and other peculiar characteristics of these picturesque villages that dot the landscape of this mountainous region, this route takes us to the paths once used to drive the animals by shepherds to Yellow Mountain. A green path that will lead us to the heart of the Portuguese natural lung, the Peneda-Gerês National Parc, full of stories and legends since the days of the Romans to the latest smuggling adventures at the time of the Estado Novo.
