The King’s RouteMinho
This is a comforting walk through the idyllic king’s mills woods, in the green land of Cabeceiras de Basto, always accompanied by fresh and ancient waterways, built in the time of D. Dinis (1261/1325). The water currents are diverted from rivers and streams by the ingenuity and human hand, and then directed for irrigation or to move mills.
A chance to see the impact that some of the measures taken by this King to impulse of agriculture at the time, and to get to know this authentic monuments of the Portuguese agricultural development.
It also includes a picnic lunch.
